Hey ladies,
I vaguely recall this being mentioned a long while ago, I think on someone's packing list, and it got me thinking. So here's my question(s):
Has anybody brought emergency contraception (plan-B or what have you) with them to the PC? Would you just go to the gyno and say "I don't really need it now, but I might later..." and they write you the prescription? And does anybody by any chance know how long the medicine would stay good?
Also, does the PC offer EC while in service?
Wow, it sounds like I'm planning on having a lot of unprotected sex ;-). I'm not, really, but I just like to be prepared.
Anyway, I know you guys aren't doctors, but any answers you have based on personal experience would be helpful.
Thanks!

if you want to get 1 or 2 in advance, planned parenthoods are generally very understanding about that sort of thing. at the pp clinic i work at, if you have an exam with us, you can get up to 3 packages of Plan B, no questions asked. (or, without an exam you can just lie, say you had a condom break and save the medication for PC.) we are currently giving out Plan B that doesnt expire until 4/2009, so you shouldnt have any trouble finding Plan B that will be good for the duration of your service.
also, another option would be getting on one of the types of birth control pills that can also double as emergency contraception. since the PC will provide you with your birth control, as long as you keep at least 1 extra pack around, you can just use it and not have to worry about getting to a clinic in time. this is the list of pills that can be used as EC:
