Hey everyone!

I'm Sarah and I am extremely curious in the peace corps.  It's been on my mind for the last year or so, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for it. I've got a two year degree in education under my belt and currently working on my four. The only problem I could see with joining would be bad allergies. I feel as if I'm not contributing to anything here and I've been searching for more. Someone told me about peace corps. Any advice on joining and tips if I do?

Sarah, for advice and tidbits of information I would browse this community. If you have more specific questions after doing so I would post them. Otherwise, good luck.

I would see if your campus has a recruiter. They are always good fountains of information.

As far as allergies go, you will be asked to fill out an extensive and annoying medical packet and they will not place you where they can not support you medical.

My advice, start early. If you have an underlying medical condition like your allergies its going to add time on for clearance and placement. I would start the summer before your senior year. If you decided midway through you changed your mind no worries but at least you started early.
